光电隔离器(PVI)为MOSFET和IGBT提供隔离的栅极驱动。但是,在关断时,PVI不能下拉栅极排放栅极电荷。采用一个可编程结晶体管(PUT)就可提供很快的栅极下拉,在0.2μs内使栅极放电,排放掉高达5A的电流。PUT为一四层结构,很像可控硅整流器.
Opto-isolators (PVIs) provide isolated gate drive for MOSFETs and IGBTs. However, PVI can not pull down the gate discharge gate charge when turned off. Using a programmable junction transistor (PUT) provides a fast gate pull-down, discharging the gate in 0.2μs and discharging up to 5A. PUT is a four-layer structure, much like a thyristor.
