本文对英、美两国较有影响的CELTA、TKT、ELTeach和我国香港地区的LPATE、大陆地区的中学教师资格考试(英语)五项英语教师资格证书进行了考察,并就语言能力要求、考试总体设计及考试方式进行了比较。总体而言:1)英美两国和我国香港地区的四项证书语言能力要求明确,考试内容与英语教学工作密切相关;2)CELTA、TKT和ELTeach更加关注英语教师专业发展需求;3)我国中学教师资格考试(英语)在语言能力要求、考试内容相关性、考试任务代表性和考题类型多样性方面尚有改进余地。根据比较结果,本文提出有必要研制我国英语教师语言能力标准,科学界定英语教师核心专业能力及设计我国英语教师资格证书,开发英语教师专业能力培训课程,进而提升英语教师专业水平。
This article examines CELTA, TKT, ELTeach and the LPATE in Hong Kong of China and five English teachers’ qualification exams in the mainland of China (English), which are influential in Britain and the United States. The overall design and test methods were compared. In general, 1) the four language proficiency requirements of the United Kingdom, the United States and Hong Kong, China are clear and the content of the exam is closely related to English teaching; 2) CELTA, TKT and ELTeach pay more attention to English teachers’ professional development needs; 3) Teacher Qualification Test (English) There is room for improvement in terms of language proficiency requirements, relevance of exam content, representativeness of exam assignments and types of exam questions. According to the comparison results, this paper proposes that it is necessary to develop the language ability standard of English teachers in our country, scientifically define the core professional ability of English teachers and design the qualification certificate of English teachers in our country, develop the professional ability training curriculum for English teachers, and then improve the professional level of English teachers.
