美国经济界的一批“开明派”人士最近对里根政府赖以制定经济政策的“供应学派”理论提出了挑战。他们认为,强调市场作用的“自由放任”政策(里根经济学)解决不了美国的经济问题,国家公营济经部分应在经济中发挥更大的作用。这一派的代表人物是哈佛大学教授罗伯特·赖克和专栏作家、国会前工作人员罗伯特·库特纳。体现他们思想的主要著作是《放任主义的结束》和《各国如何行事》。《华盛顿邮报》4月14日介绍了这两本书的主要论点,现将主要内容摘登如下:
A group of “enlightened” people in the U.S. economy recently challenged the “supply school” theory that the Reagan administration devised for economic policy. They believe that the “laissez-faire” policy (Reagan Economics), which emphasizes the role of the market, can not solve the economic problems of the United States. The state part of public economy should play a greater role in the economy. Representatives of this group are Harvard University professor Robert Reich and columnist Robert Kutner, a former Congressman. The main works reflecting their thinking are “the end of laissez-faire” and “how nations act.” The Washington Post, on April 14, introduced the main arguments of both books.
