新陆早16号(原名97-185),2003年2月通过新疆农作物品种审定委员会的审定命名。该品种纤维品质优良,属早熟中长绒陆地棉类型。2001～2003年在呼图壁县北戈壁棉花专业合作社进行试种、栽培试验、良种扩繁及示范,该品种表现出了较好的适应性,并具有抗高温、耐旱的优势,产量水平与当地主栽品种相当。一、种植表现1.农艺特性该品种植株塔型,叶片薄,中等大小,色深绿,苞叶大。茸毛小,花冠较大,结铃性强。苗期生长较稳健,进入蕾花期明显较快,后劲足,后期无明显早衰现象。在北戈壁地区4月15～20日播种,8月21～28
