In the late Qing Dynasty, in the “New Deal,” a series of new secondary schools emerged in Sichuan Province in line with the requirements of the “non-government and non-governmental organizations” system. These secondary schools have a higher status in the teaching system with elite education. Teachers and students in Sichuan New Middle School have a strong tradition of origin, family background, schooling and official career experience. After entering the new middle school, teachers and students also generally have the imprint of the old times in teaching, reading and living. The incommensuity between the new middle school system in the late Qing Dynasty and the old teachers and students is a more important issue in the educational reform in the late Qing Dynasty.
