4月14日7时49分,青海省玉树藏族自治州玉树县发生7.1级大地震。猝不及防的大地震,给这片高原大地带来巨大的灾难。地震波及的范围约3万平方公里,主要造成玉树县和称多县12个乡镇受灾,极重灾区约900平方公里,主要集中在玉树州府所在地的结古镇,当地90%的房屋化为一片废墟。这次地震灾害破坏之严重、人员伤亡之多、救灾难度之大是青海历史上空前的。截止4月25日下午17时,玉树地震已造成2220人遇难,失踪70人,受灾人数超过20万人。
At 7:49 on April 14, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake hit Yushu County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. An unexpected catastrophe caused a huge disaster on the plateau. The area affected by the earthquake is about 30,000 square kilometers, mainly resulting in 12 villages and towns affected by Yushu County and Jinduo County. The severely affected area is about 900 square kilometers, mainly concentrated in the ancient town of Yushu Prefecture where 90% of the houses are built ruins. The serious earthquake disaster damage, as many casualties, disaster relief is unprecedented in the history of Qinghai. As of 17:00 on April 25, the Yushu earthquake has killed 2,220 people, missing 70 people affected by the number of more than 200,000 people.
