This article summarizes the experience of the production of blast furnace charge by hot iron oxide pellets. Describes the hot-press coking process approved for Aglomet Inc for iron oxide scrap from steel mills. Described the first feature of an industrial plant using this process designed to handle the mixture of all iron oxide dust produced by the Republican Iron Works and Chicago plants whose chemical properties are suitable for blast furnace smelting. Describes the experience gained in driving and initial operation of the plant. The adaptability of hot pressing method for making various kinds of recycled wastes was discussed. At the same time also outlined the economic effects of this process.
