After 1973, the infant mortality rate in Chile dropped sharply. The government attributed this performance to the free market model. Is the reduction in infant mortality attributed to the improvement of socio-economic conditions in the free market model or to the national medical care service? We all know the health effects of health, living conditions, nutrition and medical care. But the question is how to ensure the distribution of these benefits and services. Is the free market economy model able to provide medical care services that can improve and maintain good health? The Chilean government recently announced that it has launched a free market.
