自从一九六三年“川3T—63A 型双轴挂车”问世以来,带制动器的双轴挂车已有许多型号。有了标准化、通用化的挂车对汽车(包括拖拉机)拖挂运输的开展,起了很大的推动作用。但要保证生产率的提高还有许多条件,其中主要的条件,就是拖带挂车后要保持一定的平均车速,如果车速比单车降低,虽然载重量增大了,但是由于车速降低就影响生产率的提高。汽车(或拖拉机)拖带挂车以后,仍要和单车差不多的速度行驶,在挂车上就必须安装具有一定制动效能的制动器,否则不能保障行车安全。一九八○年在四川省工业订货会议上所看到的双轴挂车,在三吨、四吨……挂车的两根轴上,只有一根安装了制动器,并都安装在后轴上。双轴挂车采用单轴制动器的,其制动器究竟是装在前面好,还是装在后面好是值得研究的一个问题。
