Istanbul Expo Center, which was founded with the goal of making Istanbul the world capital of exhibitions, owns the biggest fairgrounds in Turkey.It is located next to the Ataturk International Airport, and neighbour to WTC Istanbul Business Towers, WOW Hotels and WOW Convention Center.
Istanbul Expo Center covers WTC Istanbul’s largest exhibition area. The center stretches over 249.000 m2 and the overall rentable area is 98,000 m2 consisting of 11 exhibition halls. 8 of these halls are run by WTC Istanbul’s tenant CNR Expo, the rest (9-10-11) operated by WTC Istanbul. By taking Turkish exhibition organizations beyond world standards, WTC Istanbul profoundly strives to make Istanbul the capital of the exhibition world and currently plays host to approximately 100 exhibitions each year.
Already Turkey’s biggest fairgrounds, Istanbul Expo Center is projected to be among the biggest globally with this expansion project.
The launch was recently announced by Dr. Kadir TOPBA?, Mayor of Istanbul and Chairman of WTC Istanbul, and Mr. ?brahim ?A?LAR, President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Vice Chairman of WTC Istanbul.
Istanbul Expo Center’s expansion will realize in two stages, and it will be 700.000 square meters in total area. The completed fairgrounds, which will have 300.000 square meters of exhibition space, will also have a twostoried shopping area and food court in the middle section of the structure.In addition, the project includes a huge parking lot with a capacity of accommodating 8.000 vehicles and with an average total evacuation period of 12 minutes.
This huge project holds the “Leed Certificate” for having the green building standards that ensure it is respectful to humans and nature and highly efficient.
