中国本位的文化建设,是由王新命、樊仲云、何炳松等人联合发出的口号,在当时引起了广泛关注。其内容作为民国思想文化的沧海一粟。然而通过考察其参与者何炳松,在其间的活动,可见国民党在宣言背后的运作。但是不能以此简单划定何炳松扮演之角色。结合何炳松的活动态度,以及之后担任暨南大学校长的表现,可以见其不愿牵扯政治。而由此可以窥见民国学人中处理和政权关系的方式。
