公司背景邯郸钢铁集团有限责任公司(以下简称邯钢)是河北省属钢铁联合企业,1996年改为股份制。邯钢是以高炉、转炉为基本流程的大型钢铁联合企业,现有职工28556人,固定资产原值65.72亿元,总资产170.5亿元。主要产品有:圆钢、螺纹钢、角钢、槽钢、矿用钢、中板、造船板、线材等八大系列上百种规格,产品行销十几个国家和地区。然而,邯钢从1958年建厂到1977年期间曾有17年亏损,累计亏损额达1.72亿元。1979年钢产量仅为31万吨。1989～1990年,由于宏观经济的影响,基本建设规模缩小,造成钢材市场疲软,售价一跌再跌,加上原燃料涨价,钢材成本猛升,生产的28种钢材有26种赔钱,使邯钢面临亏损边缘,企业到了难以生存的地步。
