一直以来,翻译的原则多种多样,但很多人认为,迄今译界并没有提出行之有效的翻译原则。严复的“信达雅”无形之中被大多数译者接受,但译界对“雅”的争议持续不断。为此,刘重德先生建议以“切”代“雅”。本文通过对比国内外各种翻译原则,解释“切”的内涵意义,指出在科技英语翻译中应运用并动态地理解“切”这一标准。 The principle of translation has long been varied, but many people think that translation has so far failed to provide an effective translation principle. Yan Fu’s “Cinda” is virtually invisible to most translators to accept, but the translation of the “Ya” controversy continues. To this end, Mr. Liu Zhongde suggested to “cut ” on behalf of “Ya ”. By comparing various translation principles at home and abroad, this paper explains the connotation of “cutting ” and points out that we should apply and dynamically understand the criterion of “cut ” in English translation of science and technology.
