It is now generally recognized that the productivity of sugarcane is often influenced by the physical fertility of the soil more than the chemical (nutrient) fertility of the soil. Therefore, this paper attempts to quantify the physical properties of soil environment required for sugarcane in terms of soil tillage, soil moisture, soil air and soil temperature related to soil physical fertility.
