The semiconductor industry is the foundation of the information industry and also the driving force for the development of the information industry. The article clarifies the role and importance of semiconductor chip manufacturing in the information industry from two aspects: the status quo and development prospects of the world semiconductor industry and taking effective measures to establish the microelectronics industry in China as soon as possible
