Recently, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transport jointly promulgated the Measures for the Management of Inland River Shipbuilding Standardization Subsidy Funds (hereinafter referred to as the Measures). The Measures clarify that subsidies will be made to the old inland river vessels that were dismantled in advance from October 2013 to 2015 on the basis of 1,000 yuan / gross tonnage. In addition, the state also provides some subsidies to other four types of vessels, such as new inland river demonstration vessels. The existing shipping dismantling subsidy funds of the central shipping enterprises (including its controlled subsidiaries) and the subsidies for the new demonstration ships shall be fully borne by the central finance. Subsidies for other existing ship dismantling and reconstruction will be provided by the central government and the local government
