一般汉代以前的玉器为“古玉”,国外以及我国港台等地的古玉收藏家,喜欢收藏汉代以上的高古玉器。那么,如何鉴定古玉新旧呢?一、藏玉器首先应该认真细读、多读有关古玉的专著。这些学术著作凝聚着丰富的知识,推荐的书籍有:清末吴大徵所著《古玉图考》,对古玉的时代、用途、名称、尺寸均有详尽说明和考释,且绘图精确,颇有参考价值。当代杨伯达主编的《中国美术全集·玉器》,河北美术出版社的《中国玉器全集》一至六卷,周南泉的《古玉器》,昭明、利群的《中国古代玉器》,张广文的《玉器史话》,香港李英豪的《鉴别古玉》、《民间古玉》、《护身玉》、《保值白玉》,台湾古玉专家李更夫老先生的《玉器鉴定全集》(上、下册)等。
