许鹏程教授是我国老一辈著名生物化学家、营养学家。他曾在燕京大学化学系协助窦维廉教授进行生物化学教学并开展营养学研究。化学系出版的不定期的英文出版物《Nutrition Notes》,是我国早期的营养学专业刊物。燕京大学创立于1919年,至1952年院系调整时并入北京大学的33年间培养出一大批优秀人才,在外交、新闻、学术、商贸等领域做出了许多卓越贡献。共有学部委员、两院院士53名,其中化学家17名,约占三分之一,包括了著名的石油化工专家侯祥麟、生物化学家王应睐、曹天钦、梁植权,王世真等人。新中国成立时许鹏程教授在美国FAO工作。1951年他偕夫人龚兰真教授回国,在广州为开创华南地区的生化营养教学科研做了大量工作,并组建了中山医学院生物化学教研室,培养了不少生物化学、营养学专家。本刊转登了郑集教授和中山医科大学马涧泉老师撰写的许鹏程教授传略,并收到澳大利亚Monash大学医学院内科高级研究员卢济生博士为纪念许鹏程教授百岁诞辰而撰写的专稿,使我们对许教授为我国营养学发展作出的贡献有了更全面的了解,编辑部谨向他们表示感谢!
Professor Xu Pengcheng is a famous biochemist and nutritionist of the older generation in our country. He has assisted Professor Dou Weilian in the Department of Chemistry, Yenching University, in biochemistry teaching and nutrition research. The Department of Chemistry publishes occasional English publication “Nutrition Notes”, which is an early nutrition professional publication in China. Founded in 1919, Yanjing University brought a large number of outstanding talents to Peking University in the 33 years of its faculties’ adjustment in 1952 and made many outstanding contributions in the fields of diplomacy, journalism, academia, commerce and trade. A total of academic members, academicians of both houses 53, of which 17 chemists, accounting for about one-third, including the famous petrochemical expert Hou Xianglin, biochemist Wang Ying, Cao Tianqin, Liang Zhiquan, Wang Shizhen et al. Professor Xu Pengcheng worked in the United States and FAO at the founding of New China. In 1951, he and his wife, Professor Gong Lanzhen returned to China to do a great deal of work in the field of biochemical nutrition teaching and research in southern China. He also set up the Department of Biochemistry of Zhongshan Medical College and trained many experts in biochemistry and nutrition. Our magazine transcribed Professor Zheng Ji and Sun Yat-sen University Medical Professor Xu Jiancheng Professor biography, and received the Australian Monash University Medical School senior researcher Dr. Lu Jisheng to commemorate Professor Xu Pengcheng’s 100th birthday and wrote Zhuangao, so that we Professor Xu for our country to make a contribution to the development of nutrition has a more comprehensive understanding of the editorial department would like to express their gratitude to them!
