卡米尔·毕沙罗(Camille Pissarro,1830—1903)生于西印度群岛圣·托马斯岛的一个犹太富商家庭。他从小爱好绘画,但二十五岁时才去巴黎学习绘画。1855年,毕沙罗进入安东·美里倍的画室学习油画。不久,他认识了柯罗和库尔贝,两位大师对他产生了很大影响,尤其是柯罗对他帮助最大。毕沙罗遵照柯罗的教导,努力从大自然中汲取营养,巴黎郊区成了他理解大自然奥秘的最佳场所。
Camille Pissarro (1830-1903) was born to a Jewish wealthy businessman on the island of St. Thomas in the West Indies. He grew up hobby painting, but when he was twenty-five went to Paris to study painting. In 1855, Pissarro entered Anton Miriby’s studio to study oil painting. Soon, he knew Corot and Courbet, two great masters had a significant impact on him, especially Corot to help him the most. Pissarro followed Corot’s teachings and worked hard to extract nourishment from nature, making the suburbs of Paris the best place for him to understand the mysteries of nature.
