地膜覆盖栽培技术1979年从日本引入我国。各地通过在油料、棉花、粮食和甜菜等各种作物上试验、示范和推广,都获得了明显的增产效益。覆膜甜菜内蒙古自治区从1980年开始试验、示范,结果表明,该项技术由于具有保墒、增温、保持土壤疏松、抑制杂草等作用,从而促进了甜菜早发、全苗、壮苗,提早利用光能,有利肥效的释放、利用,一般增产30%左右。对于糖分的影响,各地试验结果很不一致,有增有减。
