竹副产品品种种类繁多,在农业生产和人们日常生活中起着重要作用。如何在继续加强竹副产品传统利用的基础上,用植物化学、生物化学、医药化学、植物分类学及植物生态学等多学科相结合的研究方法和技术手段,重点研究竹子中生物活性成分(药用成分)分布规律和它们的功能,已经成为用来制作凉性补养剂、催化剂、抗氧化剂、抗肿瘤剂、杀菌剂、除臭剂等产品;研究竹笋、竹材加工废料的利用技术;研究开发加工竹子饲料的技术。
