Sweden has 23.6 million hectares of forest land. Among them, private-owned forests account for 50%, state-owned forests and public-owned forests account for 25%, and forestry enterprises account for 25%. From 1966 to 1971, the annual area of forest dominance was 286,000 hectares, accounting for more than 1.2% of the entire forest area. In 1972, an area of 172,000 hectares was reforested, including 160,000 hectares of plantlets and afforested forests, 10,000 hectares of direct-see afforestation and the rest of the natural regeneration. According to the prediction of the Royal College of Forestry in Sweden, by the year 1980, the annual area of main cutting will reach 285,000 hectares and the reforestation area will reach 243,000 to 312,000 hectares. The Swedish forest is dominated by spruce and pine trees, with pine forests accounting for 32% of the entire forest area, spruce forests accounting for 22% and coniferous and broad-leaved forests accounting for 14%.
