发怒是七情致病因素之一,内经云“阳气者,大怒则形气(气血)绝,而血菀(郁积)于上,使人薄厥(昏迷)”。意指:在大怒这种瞬时发生的不良情绪影响下,人身的阳气就会迅速往上冲,阳气上升则血液上行,气血逆乱经络阻滞,血积上部,发生昏迷,伤及形神。中医还认为:“怒伤肝”,是说一个人若大怒不止、肝气上逆,血则随气而上溢,从而出现面红耳赤,气逆,吐血,呕血,严重者导致死亡。在我国古代不乏这种事例,如《三国演义》中诸葛亮三气周瑜,使周瑜身亡,《岳飞传》中金兀术被牛皋骑在裆下暴怒而死。都是由于大怒不止而造成的。
