热处理工序通常要经过三次改变温度,首先是从常温加热至奥氏体化温度,其次是冷却使它转变成为马氏体,最后还得按所需组织再加热到适当温度保温。这三次改变温度的过程,就只有冷却这一阶段必需有急剧的速度,否则就不能达到淬火的效果,因此在冷却过程中就很容易使工件产生变形或开裂。可是一般热处理工作者多半重视加热而忽视冷却这种偏向应当予以改变。
