南朝宋宗炳(375-443)所著《画山水序》是中国美术史中最早、最系统的山水画理论著述。这部文献很好地揭示了画家的主观世界与客观世界自然美,也就是心与物之间的相互关系,对自然山水作为审美对象的精神属性也做了进一步的阐释,即肯定了客观自然美的存在作为先觉条件对山水画家创作的重要影响。而山水画家的主观创造又高于自然美,强调了艺术创作过程中人的主观能动
