我们首先需要认识,舆论监督成为社会主义新闻工作的一项重要职能,是由社会性质决定的。一个事物的规定性是这个事物区别它事物的特征属性。任何事物都有这种质的规定性,这就是事物的基本属性。新闻工作的基本属性是以传播新闻为主的与论工具这个特性所决定的。它决定了新闻舆论工具的特殊性。这种基本属性适用于不同社会、不同阶级的新闻舆论工具。事物的基本属性决定事物的功能。只要我们认识事物的基本属性,就能看清事物的性质和功能。
