This article describes the rock composition, microscopic features and chemical analysis of two ancient coal-bearing ancient plant stems of the Eocene at the Great Wall Station in the Fields Peninsula, King George Island, Antarctica. Through the comparison with the coal analysis data of the times in our country and some countries in the world, it is considered that the stage of coalification of the ancient stems and stems lies in the conversion stage of lignite to bituminous coal, and the chemical analysis indexes are equivalent to the non-binding in China’s coal industry classification Coal index, the mirror reflectivity value is equivalent to the German coal rank classification of lignite reflectivity values. The test data shows that the samples have undergone coalification which is different from the general coalification and closely related to the volcanic activity.
