There are serious water security problems in India, involving very complex international factors. In the north of India, there are Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers flowing into China from India, China, Nepal, Bhutan and so on. The dependence on water resources is as high as 30.52%. India’s annual outbound traffic is even larger, reaching 1.385 trillion cubic meters, respectively, into Myanmar, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other neighboring countries. (1) Both India and Japan have real or potential water disputes with the four countries in the above six countries. Myanmar has no major differences and maintains good cooperation with Bhutan. India’s worsening water crisis may exacerbate existing disputes, activate potential disputes and aggravate regional dynamics
