诚实守信既是社会主义荣辱观的重要组成部分,也是社会主义和谐社会总要求的重要组成部分。胡锦涛同志指出:“我们所要建设的社会主义和谐社会,应该是民主法制、公平正义、诚信友爱、充满活力、安定有序、人与自然和谐相处的社会。”和谐社会的六个基本特征相互联系、相互作用、不可分离。其中,诚信友爱作为社会主义道德水平的重要标志,在社会主义和谐社会建设中发挥着不可替代的重要作用。
