OBJECTIVE: To compare the effect of ethanol wet bonding and water wet bonding on dentin bond strength and durability of the medullary cavity. Methods: 32 isolated teeth were used to remove the medullary cavity to expose the medullary cavity, remove pulp tissue and close the root canal. The rats were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 8), and were respectively wet-bonded with ethanol and wet-bonded with ethanol. Ethanol / water-based Single Bond 2 (SB) and acetone-based One Step Pick-to-pulp dentin and resin bonding. Thirty-two specimens of microtensile specimens were prepared in each group. The microtensile specimens were subjected to the microtensile test (24 h) and simulated aging test (6 m / 3000 TC) respectively. The fracture modes were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results: Under the condition of wet bonding with ethanol, the bonding strength of the two adhesives was higher than that of the wet bonding under the condition of wet bonding for 24 h (P <0.05), and the bonding strength No significant decline, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). SEM observation showed that two types of adhesive aging test both before and after the occurrence of mixed destruction, the difference was not statistically significant (P> 0.05). Under the condition of water-wet bonding, the adhesive strength of OS group was higher than that of SB group at 24 h (P <0.05), and the adhesive strength of two adhesives decreased significantly after aging test , The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion: Compared with the traditional water-based adhesive bonding, ethanol wet bonding can obtain good instant dentin bonding strength and bonding durability.
