本文着重回顾了近二十年来国内外学者对热带太平洋海域上层海洋热盐含量场的时空分布、变异机制及其与ENSO之间的关系等问题的研究所取得的主要成果,以及存在的不足和问题,对Argo实时海洋观测网的广阔前景进行了展望,包括Argo观测网提供的高质量、高分辨率温、盐度剖面资料,在准确估算上层海洋热盐含量,深入研究ENSO事件的年际变化与热盐含量异常的关系及其海气相互作用过程等问题上的应用价值。
