The conditions for the separation of uranium from a large quantity of thorium in a silica gel column were found. The medium was triethylenetetramine hexaacetic acid (TTHA), diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA). Under optimal conditions, uranium can be effectively separated from thorium in an excess of 8 × 10 ~ 4 times in a TTHA medium of pH 5-6 and I = 1.
