本文将研究通过双向HFC网络在“用户端”实现电缆调制解调器的情况。在1998年,伴随着MCNS(多媒体电缆网络系统)协会所制定的同轴电缆网络系统性能标准以及接口的出现,电缆调制解调器开始大量进入市场。 能否与现存的正向系统结构共存,对于电缆调制解调器能否成为一个宽带网络接入工具,将是至关重要的。然而,调制解调器有可能需要一个相对较高的传输电平,同时,正向接收设备将给回传通路引入噪声,以至于影响其数字通信等等。在这里,我们将对这些焦点问题加以讨论,并给出一些测量结果。
This article will examine the implementation of a cable modem at the “client” via a bidirectional HFC network. In 1998, cable modems began to enter the market in large numbers with the advent of standards for the performance of coax network systems as well as interfaces developed by the MCNS (Multimedia Cable Network Systems) Association. The ability to coexist with existing forward-facing system architectures will be crucial to whether cable modems can be a broadband network access tool. However, the modem may require a relatively high transmission level, while the forward receiving device will introduce noise into the return path, affecting its digital communications and so on. Here, we will discuss these focus issues and give some measurements.
