白璧德对卢梭自然人性论的批判代表了西方世界对卢梭的一种态度 ,且在现代中国具有一定的影响 ,因此对卢梭自然思想有必要再做考证。自然是卢梭思想的核心概念 ,卢梭自然思想有着丰富内涵 ,它包括自然人性论和自然理想国两个有机关联的方面 ,具有结构自足性、内含时代性、判断主观性的特点。白璧德对卢梭自然思想的评判忽略了其中的时代内容并片面归纳了其历史作用 ,体现着对卢梭思想的一种误读 ,必须予以纠正而还其本真。
Babbitt’s critique of Rousseau’s theory of natural humanity represents an attitude toward the Rousseau in the Western world and has an influence in modern China. Therefore, it is necessary to verify Rousseau’s natural thought again. Nature is the core concept of Rousseau’s thought. Rousseau’s natural thought has rich connotations. It includes aspects of organic relationship between nature and nature, and has the characteristics of self-sufficiency, timeliness and subjectivity. Babbitt’s assessment of Rousseau’s natural thought ignores the content of the time and summarizes its historical role one-sidedly, reflecting a misunderstanding of Rousseau’s thought that must be corrected and its truth.
