小说《说谎者雅各布》由德国著名的作家尤雷克﹒贝克尔创作完成。该作品中运用了元小说的叙述手法,不同于传统小说,元小说不再竭尽所能的去掩饰作品中的不合理成分,大方承认小说本身无法逃脱的虚构性本质。根据德国文学专科词典的解释,“元小说”(metafiction)作者在小说中有意识的打破读者的幻想,通过分析和评论故事的过程暴露作品的虚构特征,揭示叙述本身的局限性,对小说的虚构性与现实之间的关系提出疑问。
