瑶族民间长期以来流传着一种用汉字记录本民族历史的文献,叫《过山榜》。它记录了瑶族的族源、分布和迁徙,以及该族不同历史时期的政治、经济、文化状况,是研究瑶族社会发展的重要文献。据统计,我国现已发现《过山榜》131份。瑶族中族系较多,但《过山榜》主要流传在被称作过山瑶的瑶族中。过山瑶约占瑶族人口的1/2,分布较广,但以湘南、桂东北、粤北这一地区为主。
The Yao folk have long circulated a document that records the history of the nation in Chinese characters, called “The Mountain List.” It records the ethnic origin, distribution and migration of the Yao ethnic group as well as the political, economic and cultural conditions of the Yao ethnic group in different historical periods and is an important document for studying the social development of the Yao ethnic group. According to statistics, China has now found 131 copies of “Hillside List.” There are more ethnic clans in the Yao ethnic group, but the “mountain list” is mainly circulated in the Yao ethnic group known as the Yaoshan Mountain. Over the Yao Yao Yao population accounts for about 1/2, widely distributed, but in southern Hunan, northeast Guangxi, northern Guangdong this area.
