热塑性复合材料具有较大的纤维体积含量和优良的物理力学性能。与热固性复合材料相比,热塑性复合材料除具有相近的强度、刚度外,还具有较低的制造成本、良好的热稳定性和使用维护性以及优良的韧性等热固性复合材料所不具备的优点。 目前,在已得到应用的复合材料中热塑性复合材料只占1%的份额。这是由于热塑性复合材料仍处于发展阶段,还缺乏应用所必需的材料性能数据库。
Thermoplastic composites have larger fiber volume content and excellent physical and mechanical properties. Compared with the thermosetting composites, the thermoplastic composites have the similar advantages of low cost, good thermal stability, good serviceability and good toughness as the thermosetting composites except similar strength and rigidity. Currently, thermoplastic composites make up only 1% of the total weight of the composites that have been used. This is due to the fact that thermoplastic composites are still in development and lacking the material properties database necessary for their application.
