据中国日报11月25日报道一位中国政府官员已经否认由于起草者在一些重大问题上意见分歧而使新闻法起草工作暂停的传闻。国家新闻出版署副署长王强华在一次会见《中国日报》记者时说:“前不久,香港报纸报道说新闻法起草工作已经不再继续,这是不真实的。”他还说,他的新闻出版署受全国人大和国务院的委托已起草了一份草案并将逐步进行进一步的修改完善工作。
