外语学习动机历来被公认为外语学习成败的因素之一。动机的研究先驱Gardner认为动机 =努力 +学习某门语言要达到某种目的的愿望 +对学习这门语言的积极态度。他的另一研究结果是把外语学习动机分为融入性 (integrative)和工具性 (instrumental)
