1例三个月小儿患百日咳,于病程第二周因每次痉挛性阵咳后出现呼吸暂停而入院,患儿一般状况尚好,肺部除肺底有少许捻发音外,无其他异常。入院后不久突然发生全身性抽搐伴四肢阵发性痉挛,立即给予安定静脉注射,插管进行人工呼吸。眼底镜及脑脊液检查均在正常范围。当时曾认为是由于继发性脑出血或可能是脑病所致,但是在抽搐前抽血化验结果表明存在有严重的低钠血症(116毫当量/升)及低氯血症(80毫当量/升)
