我省去秋修梯田取得了很大成绩,其中修过渡梯田251万亩,水平梯田50万亩。梯田的增产效益相当显著。如朝阳地区1964年秋,修水平梯田,1965年平均亩产达到270斤,比1964年增产两倍。阜新地区1964年秋修过渡梯田。1965年平均亩产比1964年增产20～50%,个别地方还有成倍增长。但全省坡耕地还有很多没有治理,水土流失仍在不断发展,致使土层瘠薄,肥力下降,吸水、保水能力减弱,作物产量不高。
