唐代以前,《论语》学经历了两个发展阶段:两汉以章句训诂为主,学者立论恪守儒家轨辙,注重切近时政。魏晋南北朝时期渐变为思辨之学,释义多杂玄言,疏离政治。颜师古《汉书注》诠释《论语》,跳出六朝以玄言说经的窠臼,直承汉儒章句训诂之学,标志着唐初《论语》学发展路向的转折;精思独造,富于新见,可以代表唐初《论语》诠释的最高水准;其经世致用的深刻内涵,折射出贞观经学生机勃发的进取精神。唐代《论语》学虽然难称繁荣,但颜师古的诠释实践却具有开创新风的学术意义。
Before the Tang Dynasty, The Analects of Confucius had undergone two stages of development: the two Han dynasties were mainly based on chapters and sentences, while the scholars’ arguments abide by the Confucian tradition and paid close attention to the current affairs. The Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties gradual change of thinking of speculation, interpretation of many miscellaneous words, alienated from politics. The interpretation of The Analects of Confucius from the Annotation of the Han Dynasty in the Book of Songs by Jiao Shi-Gu, “The Analects of Confucius” in the Sixth Anniversary of the Founding of the Analects of Confucius, a symbol of the turning point in the development of The Analects of Confucius in the early Tang Dynasty. In the new view, it can represent the highest level of the Analects of Confucius interpretation in the early Tang Dynasty. The profound connotation of the Analects of Confucius in the early Tang Dynasty reflects the enterprising spirits of Zhenguanjing. Although it is difficult to say that the Analects of Confucius is prosperous in the Tang Dynasty, the interpretative practice of Yan Shi ’s ancient poetry has the academic significance of creating a new atmosphere.
