20世纪90年代,韩国电影开始以其多样化的风格和充满激情的活力引起世界影坛的关注。但是直至2002年,韩剧《冬季恋歌》和《蓝色生死恋》以迅雷不及掩耳之势全面登陆华语圈、培养了一大批哈韩族后,国人才开始重新审视韩国文化,真正留意起韩国电影。韩国电影发展的这十年,长期主导韩国电影市场的美国电影不断受到冲击,而本土电影逐渐占领票房的主导地位。观众的狂热、充的资金来源,更加刺激跃跃欲试的参与者,如火如荼的气氛席卷整电影界,突破票房纪录的韩国电影更如潮水般层出不穷。可以说1999年《生死谍变》的票房压倒好莱坞大片为标志,韩国电影产步入快车道,商业电影、艺术电影和国际电影节展映全面开花,多消费格局逐步形成。这其中,“韩国电影振兴金”制度发挥了不小作用。
In the 1990s, Korean films began to attract the attention of the world’s films with their diverse styles and passionate energies.
