Under the socialist market economy, folk drama is an important part of the sustainable development of Chinese drama. In September 2008, the first non-governmental investment and formally won the public service theater - basil theater was created in Beijing. Wang Xiang, founder of the theater, positioned as “public welfare”, “artistic” and “creative”. From 2010 onwards, basilisk theater began planning, organizing theater festival, has so far held seven sessions. However, non-profit oriented “basil” has always been facing tremendous economic pressure and struggling with its development. “Basil ” course of development is a microcosm of Chinese non-profit non-profit theater. Embarrassed identities, the dramatic thinking left behind by the planned economy, lagging behind and unbalanced drama education are all important factors that influence the healthy development of Chinese non-profit non-profit plays. The French model centered on state intervention and the liberal model centered on America provide some reference for the rational construction of Chinese theater ecological environment.
