Lakoff和Johnson认为,隐喻是一个概念域到另一个概念域的映射。通感隐喻就是通过从某一感官范畴的认知域映射来认知客观世界,表达思想情感。人们常常用熟悉的味觉范畴词“酸、甜、苦、辣”等来隐喻抽象概念或其它的概念域。文章从认知的角度对比分析了英汉语中“酸”味觉概念隐喻的投射存在的共性与差异,对研究“酸”通感隐喻翻译的系统性有非常重要的意义。
Lakoff and Johnson argue that metaphor is a mapping of one conceptual domain to another. The metaphor of synaesthesia is to recognize the objective world and express the emotion of the mind by mapping from the cognitive domain of a certain sensory category. People often use the familiar taste category words “sour, sweet, bitter, spicy” to metaphor abstract concepts or other conceptual domains. From the perspective of cognition, the article compares and analyzes the commonalities and differences in the projection of metaphorical taste metaphor in English and Chinese, which is of great significance to the systematic study of metaphorical translation of symplectic sense.
