Since the historic merger of BP and Amoco on December 31, 1998, the market value of BP has climbed to around US$40 billion. In the past five years, the shareholder’s income has approached 250%, far exceeding other competitors. It is one of the largest oil and petrochemical groups in the world. Its main business activities are: exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas; refining and marketing; and production and marketing of petrochemical products. It has business activities in Europe, North and South America, Australia and Africa. The world’s demand for energy grows day by day. BP meets people’s needs through oil, natural gas, solar energy, and petrochemical products without destroying the natural environment.
