韩寒的处女作和大多数导演的处女作不一样。但凡一个人刚开始做导演时,他必定是先有满腹的话想说,好不容易找到一个倾泻的出口,因而大多数的处女作总会显得信息量超载、表达欲过剩,激情四溢。而韩寒像是先明确了自己需要做一个电影导演,才开始搜肠刮肚找有什么需要通过电影来表达的内容。这个要做导演的使命感也许更多是来自外界对他的期待,或他对自己的期待,比如说郭敬明做了导演,比如资本正在八方寻找对青少年受众有号召力的新兴力量,比如他想尝试一点写作和赛车之外的工作,都可能是韩寒成为导演的潜在动机。为了当导演而当导演,这是我对韩寒处女作的诛心之论,在我看来,这就是《后会无期》是一部非常空洞的作品
