几年前,我请过几位外国设计师到中国合作,大家一起设计适合中国人生活方式、中国文化,但又符合当代设计潮流的作品。几位设计师在国外都是大腕儿,加起来拿了数个红点奖、金圆规奖这些业内顶级设计奖项。他们之前的作品我都看过,非常棒。为了这个项目,几位做了详尽资料分析,又来过中国实地考察,加上他们国际化的设计经验,我对产品相当期待。可惜最后成果并不完美,至少比他们在国外的少了些灵性和创意。因为外国设计师在提取中国元素上比较符号化,有中国红有明清型有太极圆,但搭配和意境并不够味儿,没触到深层的文化基因。人家不是从小受中国文化熏陶,可以理解。但产品极具现代感,是一次挺好的混搭实验。
A few years ago, I invited several foreign designers to China to work together to design works suitable for Chinese lifestyle, Chinese culture, but in line with contemporary design trends. Several designers are the biggest names in foreign children, add up to take a few red dot award, Golden Circle Award for the industry’s top design awards. I have seen all their previous works, great. For this project, a few have done a detailed analysis of data, but also to visit China, combined with their international design experience, I quite expect the product. Unfortunately, the final result is not perfect, at least less spiritual and creative than they are abroad. Because foreign designers in the extraction of Chinese elements more symbolic, there are Chinese red Ming and Qing Tai Chi, but the mix and the mood is not enough flavor, did not touch the deep cultural genes. People are not influenced by Chinese culture since childhood, understandable. But the product is very modern, is a good mix and match experiment.
