孟子云:“饮食男女,人之大欲存焉。”古人把婚姻与饮食放在相提并论的地位,看作人类必须做的两件大事。认为婚姻是维系人类生存和繁衍的头等大事。作为缔结婚姻的形式规范的婚俗,反映了人类文化的一个侧面,具有深厚的文化底蕴。土家族作为少数民族有其特殊的一面,这里通过对土家族婚俗的研究,浅谈隐藏在婚俗背后的文化底蕴。
Mencius said: “The men and women who eat and drink have the greatest desire to live in.” "The ancients regarded marriage and eating as their parallels, as two major things humans must do. That marriage is to maintain human survival and reproduction of the top priority. The marriage customs as the formal norms for the conclusion of marriage reflect one aspect of human culture and have profound cultural connotation. As a special feature of the ethnic minorities, the Tujia nationality, through the study of Tujia marriage customs, discusses the cultural heritage hidden behind the marriage customs.
