据苏联《亚非民族》杂志1988年第2期报道,1987年5月苏联科学院东方学研究所举行专门会议,成立了全苏蒙古学家协会(简称BAM),各地的蒙古学研究中心、有关的出版社、图书馆、博物馆及政府有关部门派代表出席了会议。苏联科学院东方学研究所所长、通讯院士基姆致开幕词。他说,成立全国性的蒙古学家协会,将进一步促进苏联对蒙古历史、文化、蒙古人民共和国的革命经验及社会主义建设的研究。协会将尽可能地把绝大多数蒙古学学者团结起来,有效地促进苏联蒙古学基本学科的发展。
